Greybeard/Wellburn Enduro still going? CANCELLED! - 2008/05/15 08:30
Are the Greybeard/Wellburn Enduros still on? What is the difference between the two? How many riders are expected for each?

Where is the start and the staging area? What time for the rider's meeting? I.E. what about a poster up on our website for information.

Peter

Peter:

I ran into Dave Horner last weekend and he tells me that the Greybeards-Wellburn is a go. Will be held in Lake Cowichan at the end of June sometime. Hope this helps a bit!

Per Dave Horner:
The greybeard/welburn enduros is being laid out by George and Ron Foster. It looks like the event will have to be held either June 22 or 29 because of logging activities in the area. I will let you know when the date is finialized Dave Horner

So back to my original question about what is the difference between the two. Here is the VMC rulebook definition.

16. WELLBURN CROSS COUNTRY 1. An event for Junior and Senior classes only. 2. This event shall follow the General Rules for reliability trials with the exception that any trails should not be lengthy and should be divided by sections of secondary roads. Arduous trails should not be used. 3. The length shall be approximately 80km. 4. There shall be five time checks (not counting secret checks if included). 5. Time checks to be approximately 16km apart.

So it seems that the Wellburn is based around trials scoring in sections. Is that correct? Versa the Greybeard?
