Notice of Motion/Pending Rule Changes
Mar 21, 2022
continued from front page...
The Galloping Goose right of way is problematic, and many options were considered, with the best and cheapest being to run a line to the Property and tying in to the neighbouring premises. Hydro’s cost for this work would be approximately $24,000. It is felt as the needs of the club grow (electronic gate, possible caretaker premises for example), this may be the best time to take this project on. Treasurer Perry made the motion that funding up to $25,000 be approved to have BC Hydro run a line to the club property. John (Boomer) Gronow seconded this motion. This motion is deemed an Extraordinary Motion due to the quantum involved, and it shall be broadcast to the membership via email. The Executive feels that due to current Co-Vid restrictions, this Extraordinary Motion warrants a longer notice period rather than the mandated two weeks, and that this matter shall be put to a vote at the May 17, 2022 Regular Meeting.
Mar 23 addendum
An addendum by Director Dave McCullough to the email that was sent yesterday. The main purpose of running power to Cycle Park is for the installation of an electric gate with swipe card pass and the cost for that is somewhere about $10,000.
With inflation rising rapidly and unpredictably there could easily be a who knows how much shortfall in estimate ? 25% ?
So the total for the project for the two parts is $35,000+.

Per Rick Kool, the Feb 24, 2020 change detailed below will not be adopted as it created an undue delay to applicants, and discouraged membership. This notice and the proposal may be removed from the website after 3 months(Feb 10, 2021).
"It didn't go down well because it took 2 months for a member to join, it was difficult to get them to 2 meetings in a row.
This really messed up the Membership infrastructure.
