Reading this article points out that nothing has changed really in over 8 years. Between private lands and the CRD parks policy, we have been actively pushed out for 40 years.
Rather than looking to create recreation "parks", the term being CRD sacred, we need to be demanding and providing stewardship of multi-user recreational greenspace. The VMC propety is a good example of where development has been stopped and 185 acres conserved, while being enjoyed extensively by VMC members as motorcycle riders. We need more of this that is aimed at the trail rider and family.
All the more reason we need to work with the Provincial Government and develop Tansky as our primary enduro area. Other places will come and go, and have, but with good stewardship we can keep Tansky for numerous generations of riders.
