I hear those who say $120.00 is too much for one event, but the days of a $10.00 entry fees are gone.
We are all living the reality of 20 years of under funding and a lack of organization when it comes to off road racing, land access issues and insurance here on the Island.
We are all in for a shock when it comes to the cost of bringing a real organization like cmrc , cma or pnwma to the Island. However it is these organizations are going to bring the legitimacy and political clout required to make the off road community be taken seriously when land access is discussed.
These licensing fees are the financial reality that the motocross community here on the Island and off road community on the mainland have been living with for years and the results are thriving racing series that turn out world class riders like Klatt, Garffunduer and Lange.
Yes $120.00 for one event is steep. But every one in the Island off road community MUST get behind this first event so it makes sense for the organizers to do the second, third and forth events !
Then its only $30.00 per event for your yearly racing license and that’s manageable for every one. If we wait for these events to become cheap before we get behind them, then we will get exactly what we deserve ... nothing.
Just like saying goes..... what came first the chicken or the egg??

I'll also say right now that the VMC puts on superior events , why is'nt it named with the above? And who is the CMA? What have they done around here?

If it was $30 or so for the one day race license and another $30 or so for admission, that is cool. I just dont think it will happen. I just cant afford $170 to go in one race. If the fee's are sane for the first race, More guys will attend, helping ensure additional rounds in the series.

Hey all, lets not allow this to become a argument over what the right price is. It is next to impossible to get people to go through the enormous hassle associated with a race. I am sure that the orginizers looked at all of the options and pick the one they felt was the best.
The important thing to remember here is to support the event.
Only through our support will we have a real Island Series for the future
