The permit would have been sent to the club postal address. Frank will be in the field all this week, so i will call him on Monday.
There is still tonnes to do without our permit. We need to layout trails, scout the topography, and design the linking network. I found another old skid trail last week that would link in the north trail ends, the N300, and our most western skid trail.
I plan on going out for Sunday. Depending on how many come out, I will do brushing, and/or scouting/link layout.

Riding & exploring at new XC riding area - 2007/04/16 09:17
No snow and sun. I put over 40kms on my gps exploring, finding Ken after he "disappeared", and just plain old riding.
We had a core group of non-VMC and VMC riders come out to ride and scout out new trails. There is first single track connector link blazed in - the "LoveShack Trail" until the trail designers give us a preferred name (you know who you are). We also blazed in our first new loop track, thanks to Jeremy and the TM riders.
So where are all those XC riders who want an area to hold enduros in? This area is beautiful and as challenging as you want to make it. Views across the Strait, and down to Jordan River, way down to JR, are there, along with plenty of riding for the family.

I would like to thank Barb and Dan for coming out and helping extend the Turk's Trail to within striking distance of N310 off the N300. Also thanks needs to be extended for their Hardhat Tr., rode it for the first time and it is lots of fun.
I just spoke to Frank Ullman, BC Govt, and he said to go ahead as though we have our permit in hand. He will get it out to us after the long weekend. He has been swamped with trying to get all the Island recreation sites open after our heavy winter.

So we have a unofficial loop for the Equalizer, thanks to the hard work of a few. We currently have 15km of single track, plus 30 km of logging roads right around us to hold the Equalizer and future events on.
Not bad for 4 months of work - went from no XC area, and no direction as how to have an area to holding our first event. For those of you that contributed, we all thank you. The club owes you at least a breakfast or a beer.

Thanks to those VMC, and mostly non-VMC members who have worked hard these Sundays to give us a place to ride for years.
