I must say that after reading the report on the useage for the parks, I'm not feeling very confident about any provisions for OHVs (Off Highway Vehicles). Clearly those who are doing the analysis aren't very interested in OHVs. Inclusion of "perhaps elsewhere" in the report when talking about the needs for OHV, only helps those who want them banned from the Parks as it gives them the false sense that there are other areas that the OHVs could go.
To force the issue, I think those in charge of this study need to be made to designate where "Elsewhere". Otherwise, if they are allowed to "pass this buck", all will be lost.
So how can we do it?
Can we put a petition together that could be put into every store & dealership that would suffer at the loss of OHV property?
Anyother ideas?

Sorry to say, but this has all been talked about before. Don't know how many meetings I have been to, or how many hours wasted, over the last 25 plus years. Short and sweet is any land issues that involve CRD parks is a non issue. They DO NOT allow motorized use in thier parks period. It is not in the parks mandate, and will not be under review for at least 3 years. When it is time for the review, it will be highly unlikely that the mandate will change. I was at the original steering committe meetings, pushing for multi use motorized access. Sad to say those efforts fell to deaf ears. Our only hope is Crown land, or buy more property. Since we do not have enough money to buy, and the unwillingness to sell or trade our property, Crown land is our last resort. Let's not blow it. Look forward not back!! Kenco.
