Off Road Race Questions - 2007/03/27 21:20

I am a newbie in regards to Motorcycle clubs, private riding area and these sorts of things. Just been lucky on the North Island with lots of room and even less people. I am anxious to race offroad and have some questions that may seem pretty simple but nonetheless I am confused?
CMA vs CMRC vs PNWMA.
3 different bodies, all with overlapping identities. Why does CMRC charge 3x as much for a membership? Which group is best suited to represent the Islands offroad riders and island races and maybe an island series?
To put on a race, why do you even need a body like these involved?
Marketing? Insurance? Rider Turnout?
How long should a hare scramble loop be?
How many hours do you get to put in your laps?
How many riders to a team typically?
