Proposed Amendments to the VMC’s Bylaws; November 30, 2024.
Preamble:
- These proposed Bylaw amendments have been discussed around the table at Executive Meetings over the prior few years. The reason for proceeding now is simply to include these amendments with the previous Bylaw updates adding Family and Youth level which were approved in November, when filing with the BC Societies Registry.
- These changes were tabled and discussed at the rescheduled monthly meeting on November 21st.
- A motion was made and approved to publish these recommendations as required and put to a vote as an Extraordinary Motion at next month’s meeting.
- The suggested changes are highlighted in Red below.
- “Extraordinary Resolution” shall mean a resolution passed by a majority of not less than three-quarters of the members entitled to vote as are present at a general meeting of which notice specifying the intention to propose the resolution as an Extraordinary Resolution has been duly given.
- Notice of Extraordinary Resolution shall be deemed to have been given to all members, if posted on the website at least two weeks prior to the meeting. All members to be alerted to this posting through a broadcast e-mail. Notice that an Extraordinary Resolution will be presented, must also be given at the regular VMC meeting prior to the meeting at which it will be voted upon.
This Extraordinary Resolution is being circulated by email and posted under Latest News on VMC’s website for consideration and vote at the next regular monthly meeting on December 17, 2024.
