General Rules Covering All Events
- No event shall be laid out so as to necessitate riders disobeying the rules of the road.
- Riders do not have the right to decide whether or not an event shall be run. It shall be up to a twothirds majority of the committee of the event to decide this. In the event that there are not three members on the committee, senior executive members shall be drawn in.
- A contestant may issue a protest in writing at the club meeting at which results are announced after the event in question by posting a $5.00 bond with the referee or acting referee and paying any additional expenses involved in the protest. If the protest is upheld, the $5.00 shall be returned: unsuccessful protestors shall forfeit the bond.
- Competitors must finish the event on the same machine on which they started the event in order to be in contention.
- Two or more riders may not ride the same motorcycle in any event. (Hill Climb excluded)
- In any event that has a time check with a checker present, the rider will be checked as follows:
- The rider will be timed in when he arrives at the checker.
- A rider who stops, foots or turns around in sight of the checker will be timed in at that point.
- Method of checking must be made clear to all riders and checkers prior to start of the event.
- In all timed events ties are to be broken by the best time in the last section. If the times are tied back to the first section, then the result shall remain a tie.
- In all Club events, visitors may compete for all trophies, but may not retain the perpetual trophies.
- All visitors must sign waivers. If under 19 they must also be signed by a parent or guardian.
- Silencers are mandatory on all motorcycles while operating on VMC property and at all VMC events, whether a closed Club or an open event with the exception of annual hillclimb. The maximum decibel is 90db when measured at a distance of 100 feet from the motorcycle in a cleared area.
- Helmets are mandatory at all events.
- Competitors must follow the complete route or be subject to protest/disqualification.
- Mileage Check – All events are to have a mileage check prior to the first time check. (Approximately 5 km.)
- Road events shall use check to check timing only.
- Any member may apply in writing to the Club Executive, for a ruling, to be reclassified down a class.
- In order to constitute a class there must be at least three entrants in that class.
- The sign-up deadline for all timed events is the actual start of the event. Late entrants will be penalized one point per minute they are late for sign-up.
- Road Rally Series Championship – The following events will count towards a Road Rally Series Championship:
- Nuts in May
- Century Run
- Mt Baker Road Ride
- Poker Run
- Paper Chase
- Points for all series championships and class promotions are to be awarded as follows;
- 1st place – 5 points
- 2nd place – 4 points
- 3rd place – 3 points
- 4th place – 2 points
- 5th place – 1 point
In the event of ties all five positions shall receive points.
